Participate Full On: The Key to RADical Success

“You get back what you put in” is a phrase we often hear in business; let’s face it, it’s profoundly accurate. If you’re interested in achieving RADical results in your life and career, participating full-on is not an option; it’s a requirement.

Full-On Participation – The Core of Excellence

When coaching one-to-one or speaking to large audiences, I always request that all clients participate fully in my sessions. Doing so is a two-way street. I also center and ground myself before each engagement to ensure I’m 100% present. Why? Because to extract total value from any endeavor, be it a coaching session, business meeting, or strategic plan, full-on participation is essential. Phoning it in simply won’t cut it, and your teams are taking notes.

The Challenge of Complacency

Now, the million-dollar question: Are you pulling out all the stops to skyrocket your business or career success? If the answer doesn’t lead you to a resounding yes, you need to consider what roadblocks you’re hitting. What changes must you implement to elevate your game and take your business to unprecedented heights?

The Cornerstones of Full-On Participation

Full-on participation in the business arena encapsulates several elements:

  1. Consistency over Perfectionism: One of the roadblocks to RADical success is the illusion of perfection. Aim to complete essential tasks every day, week, and month. Consistency trumps occasional greatness every time.
  2. Lifelong Learning: Don’t allow your knowledge to collect dust. Dive into books, podcasts, and educational videos. Keep your knowledge fresh, and your results will mirror that freshness.
  3. Timely Follow-Ups: How many opportunities have you missed simply because you failed to follow up? Go back through your notes, calendars, and business cards. Reignite those lost opportunities with a simple call. You’ll be surprised at what unfolds.
  4. Commit Selectively: It’s tempting to say yes to everything, but participating fully means saying no to commitments you can’t handle, freeing you to excel in the promises you make.
  5. Accountability: When plans derail (and they will), take full responsibility for the outcomes and make necessary adjustments. The only absolute failure is the failure to persist in reaching your goals.

The Benefits

Many studies have shown increased ownership of work, efficiency, and effectiveness when we fully participate. It’s not just about feeling good; it’s about bottom-line results.
